The Hyperion Shakespeare Company is Harvard University's only standing troupe of thespians devoted to enacting Elizabethan and Jacobean drama. We are, first and foremost, an actors' company. We favor text-centric performances that spotlight the beautiful language of these periods' playwrights and our actors' interpretation of it. Our goal is to demonstrate the enduring psychological and philosophical relevance of these plays while powerfully connecting actors and audience members during every show. Furthermore, by drawing upon academic and artistic resources, both from within the university and from the larger theater community, we seek to provide terrific opportunities for our actors to develop their craft. Ultimately, we hope to gift our actors—and, consequently, our audiences—with an unparalleled experience.
