Hyperion Shakespeare Company is Harvard's premiere theatrical organization dedicated to the work of William Shakespeare.

The Bench

The Bench is Hyperion's executive board; contact a member for any questions you have about getting involved with Hyperion or Shakespeare more broadly.

Meryl Federman '11 - President
federman@fas.harvard.edu

Meryl is thrilled to be serving as Hyperion's president for 2009-2010. A junior Mathematics concentrator in Cabot House, she is the only member of the Hyperion Bench who doesn't study humanities. She actually owns a Shakespeare trivia board game.
Marykate Jasper '11 - Vice President
& VDP Coordinator
marykate.jasper@gmail.com

Marykate, a junior in Leverett House, loves Shakespeare. As a member of Hyperion, she has acted, stage managed, and produced awesome shows. She is probably more Irish than you are. She is also probably more gentile than you are.

Sam Linden '10 - Treasurer
slinden@fas.harvard.edu

Sam does entirely too much theater. A senior in Eliot House, he enjoys composing music for Hyperion and other theater groups, acting, directing, and making a fool out of himself in social situations. Sam does not enjoy how scary his thesis is, or the fact that he's graduating in less than a year.
Megan Savage '10
msavage@fas.harvard.edu

Megan's name is pronounced MAY-gen. Megan in an English concentrator with an infectious laugh and a spunky personality. Sam once asked her why she was wearing a costume when she was just wearing her normal clothes. Sam is kind of a douchebag.

Alex Raymond '12
araymond@fas.harvard.edu

Alex does not approve of underage drinking.
Emily Hecht '11
emilia.bh@gmail.com

An English concentrator and proud resident of Pfoho, Emily actually likes living in the Quad. When not in a Hyperion show, Emily can often be found singing acoustic covers of Gnarles Barkly in the SOCH coffeehouse, singing onstage in a musical, or singing anywhere else at any time.

Joe Hodgkin '12
jhodgkin@fas.harvard.edu

Joe is admittedly less Irish than Marykate, but he is English enough to regularly visit family in Stratford-upon-Avon - Shakespeare's hometown. Contrary to popular belief, he has been known to play male characters in Hyperion productions. When the thrills of acting are not enough, he will lean over the edge of the lighting grid, clinging to heavy, expensive metal equipment. It's scary, but he doesn't throw up.

Jay Musen '09 - Webmaster
musen@fas.harvard.edu

Jay is not actually on the Bench. He served on it for a couple of years in ages past and has stuck around as Webmaster - because Shakespeare nuts who know HTML are apparently thin on the ground. He would like to point out that he is responsible neither for the text nor for the photos on the rest of this page. It is all Sam's fault. Feel free to send Jay an e-mail if you notice that the site is in desperate need of an update.
